2D ROBO VISION SYSTEM for detection of products

2D ROBO VISION SYSTEM for detection of products

We present you a measuring system with a digital camera for controlling the robot applications in the bakery industry.

In the displayed robotic cell you can see two different applications, whose controlling is based on the measuring system with a digital camera, i.e.: 1. Measuring system type ROBO VISION 2DH – CUT with two digital cameras for controlling robotised cutting of dough loaves and 2. Measuring system type ROBO VISION 2D – P&P with a digital camera for controlling of robot packaging machine.

1. ROBO VISION 2DH - CUT Through the digital camera, the device recognizes size, position and orientation of dough loaves on the conveyor belt and triggers a robot to make a predetermined number of cuts on each loaf at equal distances. Cutting must take place regardless of position and orientation of a loaf, always under the same angle, giving later on a recognizable aesthetic form to a baked loaf. Developed software enables a subjective creation of a cut on a loaf. In the recipe, the user may determine: number of cuts per loaf, individual cut length, cut angle and distance between two adjacent cuts. Considering these data and pictures obtained from the camera, the algorithm calculates precise coordinates of the start and end of desired cut.

2. ROBO VISION 2D – P&P Through the digital camera, the device also in this case recognizes size, position and orientation of packed products and triggers a robot to shift a measured and selected product in a foreseen packaging on the adjacent conveyor. By means of camera, a picture of conveyor belt with products is taken. The picture is processed with an adequate algorithm, a precise position of an individual object is determined and robot coordinates are calculated for completion of a desired operation. Introduction of a measuring system with a camera or machine vision provides for more flexible and precise robot functioning. Such system can be fast adapted to different boundary conditions in a bakery.
